How to write Leveled Text

Level A (Emergent):

Use 1 simple sentence per page. Stick to CVC words (cat, dog, sit) and basic sight words (the, a, see, is, on).

Level B (Emergent):

Use 1-2 sentences per page. Introduce simple repetitive sentence structures (Sam likes to run. Sam likes to play.)

Level C (Early):

Use 2-3 sentences per page. Use more varied sentence styles, punctuation, and blends (tree, bird, green, nest).

Level D (Early):

Use 3-4 sentences per page. Introduce basic story lines, dialogues, compound words, and a wider vocabulary (sandcastle, watermelon).
